ASIS
ASIS International (ASIS) is the largest organization for security professionals, with more than 35,000 members worldwide. Division of Licensing
The Division of Licensing consists of 139 positions with an annual budget of $12 million that is totally funded by licensing fees and assessments. It is the responsibility of the Division to protect the public from unethical business practices on the part of persons providing private security, private investigative and recovery services to the public through licensure and regulation of those industries pursuant to Chapter 493, Florida Statutes.
In addition, the Division is responsible for the issuance of Concealed Weapon or Firearm Licenses in accordance with Section 790.06, Florida Statutes.
